// terms of use
Short, because there's little to govern.
h4Bin is a free, open-source, client-side tool. It stores nothing and runs on your device. These terms exist mainly to make responsibilities explicit.
1. Acceptance
By using h4Bin (the site and the software it delivers to your browser), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
2. What the service is
h4Bin delivers a static web application that compresses and encrypts text locally in your browser and encodes the result into a shareable link. No paste content, keys, or passwords are ever transmitted to, stored by, or readable by the operator. Consequently, the operator has no ability to access, moderate, recover, or delete any paste.
3. Your content, your responsibility
Because pastes exist only inside the links you create and share, you are solely responsible for the content you place in them and for whom you share them with. You agree not to use h4Bin to create or disseminate content that is illegal under applicable law — including malware distribution, stolen credentials or personal data, or material that infringes the rights of others. The tool's encryption does not change what the law permits.
4. No warranty
h4Bin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. While the design and cryptography are public and tested, no software is guaranteed free of defects. Do not rely on h4Bin as the sole safeguard for information whose disclosure would cause serious harm.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including loss of data (e.g. a lost link), loss of confidentiality caused by how or where a link was shared, or damages arising from use or inability to use the service.
6. Open source
The software is licensed under the MIT License. You may audit, fork, and self-host it. These terms apply to the instance served at this domain; your fork is your own.
7. Changes
Terms may be updated over time; changes are visible as commits in the public repository and take effect when published on this page.
